Hello and welcome to the web site for Hearing Voices Ireland (HVI). This initiative was started in October 06 and had its launch event on 10th November 06. Recently we have participated in a training course for facilitators of hearing voices self help groups in Belfast. We now have three trained facilitators in the south and thirteen in the north. We plan to do further training in the south soon. Details will be forwarded as they are confirmed. Check the Belfast piece in the audio section for further information.
The first HVI self help group is running every Friday night in the Social Services Centre on Henry Street Limerick opposite the Old Stand pub from 7pm untill 9pm with wheelchair access. All are welcome. Any inquiries ring Brian on 087 9259146.
Email us for a copy of the HVI CD featuring interviews with voice hearers.
Our primary task is
To promote and foster acceptance of voice hearing as a valid human experience
We plan to set up a network of self help groups in Ireland for people who hear voices and interested parties such as relatives and friends of voice hearers and professionals working in the field. We are currently seeking investment in this endeavor.
Details of the launch, feedback, poetry, audio and contact details can be seen at the menu above. Please feel free to contribute by clicking HERE.
